•Ashley is back and taking appointments starting 11/18• Stylist Q & A: Ashley {master cosmetologist & owner} Where did you go to school? I apprenticed at City Salon and Spa in Athens How long have you been doing this? 14 years. Wow, that makes me feel old! What continuing education have you done since? I’ve gotten my certification in lash extensions, hair extensions, as well as numerous cutting, styling, and coloring classes. My most recent, and fav, was the Lived In Hair class by the amazingly talented @johnnyramirez1 & @anhcotran. What lead you down this career path? I loved the atmosphere of the salon every time I would go and have my hair done! And I’ve always been creative and artistic so it was an exciting and natural career path for me! What would you say are your specialties? I think my specialty is honestly in my relationships with my clients. I really try to listen to their wants and needs and create hair that accommodates that for them. My clients become like friends and family and I want to keep them happy as well keep their company. And what do you love most about your job? I love when I can get a great reaction out of a client! That means that not only are they happy but I’ve likely exceeded their expectations! Just for fun: What is your favorite 90s jam? Oh, there are SO many! I love everything from Nirvana to Britney! What was the last thing you watched on TV? The Walking Dead…not impressed so far this season. #justsayin #enoughmonologues What do you think about when you are alone in your car? I’m rarely in the car alone for any length of time! But you can bet if I’m going over the causeway I’m thanking God for being surrounded by so much beauty.

Dear Friends and Clients, I hope that each and every one of you has had a wonderful start to the new year! As many of you know, it has brought me a lot of change. And change leads to new things, growth, and a fresh start! With that being said, I am happy to announce that Maggie and Elizabeth have chosen to pursue their dream of owning their own salon. As of January 22nd, B.lush Salon + Spa will open for business to continue serving you. If you have an appointment scheduled with them, Becca, or Kristen, you’ll be able to find them at 284 Redfern Village. I have also chosen to take this opportunity to step down from being a business owner. To lighten my load and spend more time with my children. The Back Porch will remain open through mid February. I am taking these next few weeks to really weigh out my options and to think about what is going to best for me and my family but don’t worry, I’ll most definitely still be doing hair and lashes in the area! I’ll keep you all posted! This is bittersweet for sure, the end of an era, but we are all excited for our new adventures! *please note that any previously scheduled appointments are still on the books and will be performed at whichever location your stylist is at.
