Sharing this because maybe you’re like me and seeing things visually helps you better understand something than just hearing it. This is a photo showing why you CAN NOT GO LIGHTER WITH A BOX COLOR. When a professional tells you “Color doesn’t lift color”, “You can’t box color your hair dark and then box color it a lighter color”, “you can only go lighter with bleach”... this is why! The lighter box color will only alter your virgin roots, and leave you with “hot roots”. It will most likely darken the existing color you already have on your mids and ends, adding another layer to be lifted through if you want lighter hair
