In 2007 i decided i needed a change- a change in my life that would become my career and my passion. It was a year that taught me that i could do anything that i put my mind to- it was a year that challenged me to attend Cosmetology School full time, work part time and start what would be my career. 10 YEARS ago today i graduated from Cosmetology school. It’s crazy to grasp that I’ve been doing Hair for 10 years!!!! They say time flies when you’re having fun, and that i do everyday. I love what i do, i have amazing clients that are awesome- i have an amazing salon thanks to all the support, love and dedication of my family, friends, and clients. The past 10 years i have learned so much about myself, and everyday i continue to learn, i continue to build my business, adding services to my resume, and continue to build an awesome career and passion. I couldn’t have done it without the love and support from my family, friends, CO-workers, mentors, clients that I’ve met along the way, and i can’t wait to see what the next 10 years brings! Hair and Lash Clients- my weekends are booking into July and regular week appointments are booking 2-3 weeks out- Please don’t wait until the last minute to schedule if you’re needing in! I’m only one person and will try my best to accommodate everyone- also my summer is going to be set days- from June through the end of August. As a hairstylist, my job isn’t always about making someone pretty. I’ve hugged girls after a breakup. I’ve prayed for women who just got divorced or in an abusive relationship. I’ve given encouraging words to the girl getting ready to start college or a new job. I’ve been the first to realize someone is pregnant by the texture of their hair. I’ve caught thyroid problems on the lady with a thinning scalp. And today I cut several inches of hair off a dear friend that’s getting ready to undergo chemo treatment. Being a hairstylist isn’t easy. See, when women (or men) come into the salon they’re not coming in just for a “new do”. The majority of the time I have to give them so much more than a fresh haircut or color. And it is hard to find the words to say to help comfort, encourage & let them know everything is going to be okay. I’ve said this before and I still believe I’m not in this business to just do hair. I believe God has placed me here to be a light to those who may be hurting, sick, stressed or any other situation in their lives. Sometimes it’s hard to find the words to say to someone, especially if you’ve never been through what they’re going through. But I pray God keeps sending them so I can keep lighting the sparks and show there’s good to come in this world. The enemy loves to drag us down where he knows it hurts. It’s heartbreaking to see what some people have to endure in this life. But keep sending them Lord! Even if you don’t hear me, it doesn’t mean I’m not praying for you. ❤️
